My Biggest Regret in Politics – Honorable Shina Peller
Honorable Shina Abiola Peller,the Ayedero of Yorubaland and former Former Member House of Representatives from Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Iwajowa and Kajola has said that his biggest regret in Politics happened during the Endsars Protest .
He stated this during an interview with Seun Akande on Front Burner a pubic affairs Program on Success FM ibadan.
He said he met with several artists, celebrities and influencers and all in a bid to avert the avoidable crisis and killings that followed !!
Honorable Shina Peller asserted that he reached out to the Powers that be via text, calls and Whatsapp on the urgent need to address the demands of the Young people who wanted an end to Police brutality among other issues occasioned by the Police .
Unfortunately according to Honorable Peller, the situation was allowed to degenerate into the Killings of 20/10/2020 due to what he termed insensitivity to the plight of the Young people by the Powers that be !!
He further stated that he alongside other Honorable in the
9th Republic of the national Assembly already had a motion of urgent nation importance in place but unfortunately the powers that be in the then House of Representatives ensured the motion never saw the light of the day and that moment of unwarranted killings haunt him till date .
He posited that Young Nigerians need to do more than just being visible on social media and that they need to translate their strong social media presence to civil and community Mobilization in order to use their huge numbers to ensure a generational change !
